Hutton-Clarke antiques are pleased to offer an antique Chinese round centre table, circa 1860. Made in solid padouk with a large top on a tripod base attached by a fixed birdcage. Original colour and patination. The edge of the top is carved finely and probably had a tenoned carved frieze below. The base is superb with very good quality deep blind fretwork. The legs are embellished with scales and carved dragons on the tops of the cabrioles. The whole piece is of excellent quality and very heavy for its size with very dense timber. Far better quality than examples from other eastern countries.
