The frieze is exquisitely decorated with classical rosettes, bead-and-reel moulding and finely detailed foliate carving, all highlighted by the original water-gilded finish.
The console is raised on a pair of fluted tapering legs adorned with carved ribbon-tied laurel swags, united by a graceful shaped stretcher centred with a beautifully carved classical urn. The shaped marble top sits perfectly above the sweeping giltwood frame, creating an impressive yet refined architectural form.
