Beautiful Gilded bronze horse in original rosewood cushion moulded frame, mounted on old old velvet background. Very nice detail and exceptional casting with excellent water gilt surface. A rare and unusual item.

 

Copenhagen was the Duke of Wellington's war horse, which he most famously rode at the Battle of Waterloo. Copenhagen was of mixed Thoroughbred and Arabian parentage, with his dam being sired by The Derby winner John Bull and his sire Meteor finishing second in the Derby
