An elegant late 18th-century mahogany side table, of particularly refined proportions, standing on four slender tapered legs terminating in unusual spade feet.
The frieze is especially distinctive, decorated with finely worked geometric panels and vertical fluted-style inlay, creating an architectural rhythm across the front. The rectangular top has a handsome moulded and banded edge, complementing the restrained decoration of the frieze.
The rich, figured mahogany has developed a warm, deep colour and patination, with the piece retaining its elegant original character. A particularly unusual and decorative example, suitable as a side table, writing table or occasional table.
