A well executed carved limewood sculpture of a nude male pushing a giant boulder with what appears to be faces coming from the rock. A clever use of chip carving to give an artistic faceted surface . The carver has managed to capture both movement and proportions well. A good decorative item to put on a modern or traditional piece of furniture. Signed in the corner as shown in the photograph. I presume to be either Swiss or German in origin.
