A superb quality 19th century French Pier mirror, circa 1840. Finely gilded in genuine water gilt with a beautiful surface and contrasting oil gilt decoration. Original looking glass plate with some small imperfections expected with time. Decoration includes rope twist uprights with balusters, terminating in floral bosses. The frieze is decorated in shells, whilst the cornice is unusual with suspended acorns. A very useful height for many places in a house.
