Hutton-Clarke Antiques is pleased to offer a country house oversized cheval mirror from the Empire period in France, likely originating from a large chateau. This exceptional piece features a pedimented top with mounts, below are two columns with flamed veneering. The large original mirror plate swivels to the desired position for optimal viewing. The base consists of down-swept legs united by a turned stretcher, with additional central turned legs providing extra strength and stability. This mirror is a particularly fine example, notable for its large size, as most mirrors of this kind tend to be smaller and less practical for viewing oneself while dressed.
