A rare and decorative early 19th-century mahogany torchère, later converted to a standard lamp. The column is finely carved with elongated lotus leaves and moulded roundels, rising from a triform base with bold gilt paw feet and a central carved motif to the upright. The rich mahogany surface has developed a deep patina, beautifully offset by the original parcel gilding to the base.
A striking and elegant lamp that showcases refined Georgian design with excellent decorative presence.
